Trending Music Report
THE PROJECT
In our 2023 Trending Music Report, TBC's Music Intelligence team set out to analyze and identify the most impactful trends and exciting emerging content that the music industry served up over the past year.
THE SOLUTION
Our expert analysts, curators, journalists, and critics gathered all of the data analysis and expert editorial we had created with our Sound Signal newsletter and worked to identify the patterns, insights, and discoveries from the past year. We sought to present these findings in a highly stylized, comprehensive, and engaging format.
THE RESULTS
The final product was our first official Trending Music Report, a comprehensive study on the artists, tracks, and trends that defined the year in emerging music. By tracking the rise of the nearly 200 artists and tracks that we identified over the whole of 2023, we were able to demonstrate our expertise in trendspotting and data analysis, reporting on the future impact of artists that were right on the verge of major breakthroughs. All told, 20 artists were highlighted by us before they first appeared on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart, while 10 tracks were featured in our Sound Signal newsletter before making viral history on the Billboard Hot 100.
